PAUL CURIE

Paul Curie (1799-1853), est un humaniste malthusien engagé né à Grand-Charmont, près de Montbéliard. Il s’installe à Mulhouse, après ses études de médecine. Il y fréquente la bourgeoisie et très rapidement épouse (le 18 septembre 1825) Augustine Hofer, l’un des plus beaux partis de la ville : le père d’Augustine n’est autre que la fille de Jean Hofer, grand industriel français de la première partie du XIXe siècle. Grand-parent de Pierre Curie.
